Visa
- Any student who intends to attend a Korean language training course shall enter Korea after obtaining a visa according a nationality and training period.
The period to issue a visa and documents required may depend on the applicant’s nationality and therefore, please check them to the Korean diplomatic office in the country beforehand.

How to Apply a Visa before Entry to Korea :
- Please ask to the Korean diplomatic office in the country where an applicant is residing.
How to Register as an Alien after Entry to Korea :
- Persons to be registered : All foreign students who entered Korea after obtaining a visa in their home countries
- Reservation to Register : It is required to reserve a pre-visit on the website of Hi Korea (https://www.hikorea.go.kr/)
- Common Documents to Present : - 1 copy of Application Form - 1 copy of passport - 1 sheet of a photo (3.5cm * 4.5cm) - Application Fee (KRW30,000) - Certificate for Payment of Tuition Fee (before admission) or Certificate for Enrollment (after admission) - Medical Report
Precaution : If you obtained a visa but failed to register yourself as an alien, your visa may be revoked or you may be fined.
Notes after Registration as An alien
- If it is required to renew information registered as an alien due to any of followings, you are obliged to report such change(s) to the immigration office within 14 days from the date that the reason is generated.
- Reason for Change in Registration : - if a name, gender, date of birth, and nationality, etc. is changed; - if a passport number, date of issue, and expiry date, etc. is changed; - if a school to which the student belongs is changed; or - if the student’s residence is changed (possible to report a change by internet)
- How to Report a change : You may report a change by visiting the Incheon Immigration Office or on line at the website of Hi Korea(www.hikorea.go.kr)
How to Extend a Visa in Korea
- You must check the expiry date of your visa and extend your visa by preparing for documents required and visiting the Immigration Office in advance.
- Reservation : It is required to reserve a pre-visit on the website of Hi Korea (https://www.hikorea.go.kr/)
- Documents List : - Integrated Application Form (a form designated by the Ministry of Justice) - Alien ID Card (Alien Registration Card) - the copy of main page of your passport, and the copy of a Korean visa in your passport - Certificate of Enrollment - Certificate for Payment of Educational Cost (Tuition Fee) - Official Transcript - Any document to prove a place of residence (a copy of Agreement/Contract for Dealing/Leasing of Real Estate) - Certificate of Balance issued by a bank (KRW ***** after paying a tuition fee) - any charge/fee generated in applying the renewal of a visa (KRW60,000)
Precautions:
It is possible to apply to extend a visa four(4) months before the expiration of the length of stay.
The application to reserve may be early closed in March and September which the applications to extend a visa are rushing.
When you apply to extend a visa after expiration of the length of stay, you may be fined.
All or any responsibility for a visa shall be borne by the student.

Get off a bus station called ‘Incheon Immigration Office’ and walk about 100m in the opposite direction.
Car.
Get out ‘Incheon IC’ on 1st Gyeongin Expressway > go straight > pass the INHA University Hospital > turn right at the Incheon Port Intersection > make a U-turn.
Subway.
Take a bus No. 517 in front of the square of Dongincheon Station Subway Line No. 1 or Bus No. 9, 12, or 24 at the bus stop on the opposite side of the square (get off a bus stop called “Incheon Immigration Office”)
Walk about 17 min. (1.1 km) to the direction of Suin Intersection after getting off at the station of Soongeui Station or Sinpo Station of Subway Suin Line
How to Book Visit to the Incheon Immigration Service : If you have no an alien registration number,
- Click a menu ‘Reservation to Visit“ after accessing the webpage of Hi Korea (www.hikorea.go.kr)(www.hikorea.go.kr)
- Click a menu “Apply the reservation to visit (for non-members)” after clicking a button “Agree”
- Click “Identity Verification by Passport Number”, enter “a passport number, nationality, and date of birth” and then click a button “Confirm” - Classify English capital and small letters correctly when entering a passport number and enter 8 numbers out of a date of birth in the sequence (ex: 01 JAN 1970 → 19700101)
- Click “the immigration office (branch office) to visit” - You should select the immigration office (branch office) according to your place of residence.
- Click “Apply” after entering a window to accept, mobile phone number, number of applicants, date to visit, and purpose to visit.
- Complete the reservation to visit and then print or take a picture of the visit reservation card (available for a text message on the mobile phone).
- Prepare for all documents to present and visit the immigration office (branch office) that you selected ten(10) min. before the time reserved.
How to Book Visit to the Incheon Immigration Service : If you have an alien registration number,

- Click “Apply” after entering a window to accept, mobile phone number, number of applicants, date to visit, and purpose to visit.
- Complete the reservation to visit and then print or take a picture of the visit reservation card (available for a text message on the mobile phone).
- Prepare for all documents to present and visit the immigration office (branch office) that you selected ten(10) min. before the time reserved.
The reservation to visit may be closed early and therefore, you should reserve to visit four(4) months (excluding a holiday) before the expiration of your visa (impossible to reserve on the very day)
